GP Practices in Workington – Merger
The five practices in Workington have been given approval to start the merger process.
This will mean all our practices will be working together. We do this already around the Workington Primary Care Centre, home visiting service and the covid vaccine roll-out.
We can now start to put some of the building blocks for a more secure future in place and to do the work behind the scenes to bring the practices together formally. The formal merger will take place on the 1 February. Our computer systems will merge practice by practice over the coming weeks.
Patients will still use the same numbers to contact their practice and usually see the same health care professionals.
The feedback we received before Christmas will help shape our next steps and we will keep our patients informed and involved.
We will update you when we have progress to share.
With patient’s needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.
For urgent advice and treatment when our practice is closed please call 111 on 01900 64866 or 03000 247247.
At weekends you can now make an appointment by dialling 111 or by contacting the Primary Care Centre directly on 01900 705039 (please note this number is only available at weekends)
